The duality between sandstone outcrop and open views toward the bay, offers seasonal spaces.

Thermal mass of the sandstone cools the courtyard, naturally regulating the internal temperature during summer.

The plan curves in response to its geometry, the concrete roof form echoing the rock formation. The narrow courtyard between rock and building becomes a shaded retreat.

To the west, open views toward the bay draw light deep into the interior. Vertical timber shutters provide passive solar control, while the extended roof curve offers additional shading.

The design frames landscape, light and ritual, transforming an overlooked corner of the garden into a place of retreat.
